With Falsterbo now behind us, it feels like the right time to pause, settle down a bit and share our thoughts after a total of eleven fantastic days there. It’s often only when you get home that all the impressions have time to sink in and you gain a bit of perspective.
First and foremost, we’d like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to all of you who popped by our tent. Every encounter means a great deal to us, and we always leave Falsterbo feeling re-energised, brimming with inspiration and with an even greater passion for what we do.
Of course, it’s particularly enjoyable to meet all of you who already use our products and share your positive experiences with us. But just as valuable are the conversations with those of you who come to us with questions, ideas and suggestions on how we can improve even further. We want to keep developing, and we’re convinced that the best way to do this is by listening, talking and learning from one another. It’s precisely this mix of people, meetings and conversations that made this year’s Falsterbo event such a fantastic experience and an inspiring platform for the future.
Looking at Falsterbo as a whole, we found this year’s event to be significantly more positive than last year’s. It felt as though more visitors had found their way here, but above all, the atmosphere was different – lighter, happier and more positive.
Perhaps the discussions surrounding the prospective sponsor last year played a certain role, but we believe there were other explanations as well. This year, there really was something for everyone. Activities followed one after another on the various courses, which meant the area was buzzing from morning until evening.
The show jumping was also of an incredibly high standard, with one of the strongest fields of competitors in many years. Although it wasn’t Sweden’s year in the Nations Cup, the audience was treated to world-class international equestrian sport.
Another change was that the simplified rules meant more young horses could take part. Ahead of the competitions, there was some concern as to whether all the horses would be ready for the task, but as the course on the first day was five centimetres lower than in previous years, we believe that many riders and their horses got off to a safe and positive start. The impression we got from our visitors was also that Falsterbo has become a place where you can really enjoy a whole day – strolling between the competitions, discovering various activities, sitting down for a tasty bite to eat, socialising and, at the same time, taking the opportunity to shop at really good prices.
Having been there for eleven days, you also have time to reflect a little on how the experience could be made even better. As an exhibitor, it’s a long period. Some days fly by, whilst others feel considerably more relaxed.
One idea that we believe could further enhance the event is to find sponsors who would make it possible to offer free admission on one of the first few days, for example from Sunday to Tuesday. This is precisely when many young horse classes are decided, and free admission would likely attract even more visitors – something that would benefit the public, the exhibitors and the organisers alike.
We also believe that the exhibition area would be even easier to navigate if exhibitors with similar product ranges were placed closer together. For example, clothing, jewellery, homeware and other lifestyle products would benefit from being grouped together in a single area. This would make it easier for visitors to find what they’re looking for, whilst creating an even more enjoyable shopping experience.
And finally… we simply must mention what was probably on many people’s lips throughout the week.
